Normandy Journals
Good to See Ya!
Here's a Little Bit About me
Hi there! My name is Normandy Wilson, but I usually go by Nora. Originally from Roswell, Ga, I am now based in Athens, Ga. I am a third-year student at the University of Georgia pursuing a triple major in journalism, international affairs and French. Beyond my reporting classes within the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, I also write for UGA's student run news outlet, The Red & Black and conduct First Amendment Law research through the University Office of Research.

Since February of this year, I have served as the social media and marketing intern for Brain Freeze Foods. As an intern, I create digital video and photo content for all social media platforms, design the online image for the brand, and construct advertising campaigns. My work creating and promoting Brain Freeze has provided me with expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

I have taken photos for musicians like Lil Yachty, Earl Sweatshirt, and The Band Jericho. I have over five years of expertise in film photography. Additionally, I enjoy documenting life through video-diary style reels that showcase my travels and the joy of everyday life.

In October of this year, I spent a week at the CNN headquarters in Atlanta, where I learned from some of the most accomplished journalists in the field today, and honed my journalism skills whilst writing and producing a multimedia piece for CNN Academy. I will be returning to CNN Academy in the spring of 2026 as an intern.

In the summer of 2026, I will be conducting global security research abroad in Morocco before interning with Delta Airlines at their headquarters in Atlanta as a Global Communications Intern.
For as long as I can remember, all I've wanted to do is tell stories. I grew up in a large, chaotic family, and, as a result, reading became my quiet escape from reality. At the age of twelve, I attended a summer camp that brought one of my favorite books to life, and realized that stories were more than just things imaged in my mind--they were experiences lived. Since then, I have joined the head creative writing team at that summer camp, Camp Half-Blood Austin, which aims to bring Greek myths to life for young avid readers and is a part of a nonprofit, Between the Pages, based in Austin, Texas that provides underprivileged kids with the learning resources to excel as students.

In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry under the pseudonym "La Belle Fleur Sauvage." I started writing poetry at the age of 14 as an emotional release when my father was diagnosed with cancer, and it became a much larger part of my life than I could have ever imagined. My senior year of high school, I was named a finalist in the 2023 Walt Whitman Student Poetry Competition for my debut anthology, "Yellow Water Oak." Now, my second collection, "How Do I Explain the Great Ocean Above My Head" will be published in July 2026.

With a strong foundation in reporting, multimedia storytelling and global communications, I hope attend law school to further study First Amendment Law. Eventually, I would like to apply my skills in multimedia journalism and understanding of law to a global context and pursue a communications role with the United Nations General Assembly.
